I established Pest & Termite Defence in 2022, bringing more than 11 years of combined experience across property-related industries to pest management, termite inspections and body corporate services throughout Brisbane.
As an owner-operated business, I personally carry out every inspection. This provides clients with consistency from the initial enquiry through to the onsite work, reporting and recommendations.
I hold qualifications in Urban Pest Management and Timber Pest Management and provide practical, clearly documented services for residential, commercial and body corporate properties.

From Property and Body Corporate Experience to Pest Management
Before establishing Pest & Termite Defence, I developed more than 11 years of combined experience across property-related industries, with much of that time involving body corporate buildings and residential complexes.
For approximately eight years, my work involved body corporate properties and the coordination of pest control services, including experience in body corporate management. This gave me a practical understanding of the challenges involved in maintaining shared-property environments — from confirming common property boundaries and interpreting work orders to coordinating resident access and communicating with managers, committees, caretakers and owners.
During that time, I regularly saw contractors complete the physical work but provide limited information about what had been inspected, what had been identified or what action was required. This created difficulties for managers and committee members, particularly those who were not onsite and relied on the contractor's report to understand the condition of the property.
I moved into pest management because I saw an opportunity to combine technical pest control and termite inspection work with a practical understanding of body corporate operations.
That background continues to shape the way I operate Pest & Termite Defence. Particular emphasis is placed on clearly defined scopes, accurate documentation, photographic evidence and practical recommendations. The objective is to ensure that both onsite and offsite stakeholders can understand what was inspected, what was found and what should happen next.
Responsible Pest Management, Informed by Beekeeping
My approach to pest management is also influenced by my experience as a beekeeper. Beekeeping has given me a strong personal appreciation for managed honeybees, native bees and other beneficial pollinators.
Effective pest management remains essential, but it should be undertaken responsibly. Wherever practical, treatments are planned with consideration for flowering vegetation, surrounding environmental conditions, potential pollinator activity and other non-target organisms.
This means selecting appropriate registered products, following label requirements, applying treatments only where needed and favouring targeted treatment methods over unnecessary broad chemical application.

Termite inspection and management services are undertaken with regard to the applicable Australian Standards. This includes AS 3660.2 for termite inspections and management of existing buildings and AS 4349.3 for pre-purchase timber pest inspections.
